Mix and match your own sewing pattern

Mix and match your own sewing pattern

Most sewing patterns give you one design: one sleeve, one collar, one silhouette. Our mix-and-match approach works differently - it treats a pattern less like a single blueprint and more like a set of building blocks you combine yourself.

We started Puff and Pencil because we wanted sewing to be an expressive, not restrictive, process and that is what mix-and-match really is about.

How it works

At Puff and Pencil, many of our base patterns (our blouses, dresses, and vests) are designed to be modular. That means you can pair a base pattern with different sleeve styles or collar styles from our collection hence bases, sleeves and collars can be purchased separately.

How to get started

Try our Pattern Designer to see which patterns can be combined and preview your chosen combination as an illustration. You can also take a look at our Mix and Match overview to see which patterns can be combined.

Why sew this way?

You get more designs from fewer patterns. Instead of buying a new pattern every time you want a different sleeve, you can restyle a base pattern you already own. Bases, sleeves, and collars can be purchased separately.

You can make something that's genuinely your own. Off-the-rack clothing gives everyone the same options. With the mix-and-match approach you can put together the style that truly fits your taste.

Happy sewing,

Anne Sofie & Marie
